So I'm currently sitting in my bed, annoyed at the backspace button, and wracking my brains in the hope I type a New York Times-worthy blog. Well if that's what you have come here for I'm sorry to disappoint, I'm more of 3-star sympathy rating on Amazon. But, you're here. So, hello. Now you're probably sitting wherever you are, either on the bus, or under a rock or in the shower, or on a really bad Tinder date reading this blog post; that is going on a bit of a random tangent and you're appalled that author hasn't even said hello. I don't know whether you're going to be madder at me, or the bus driver that slams the breaks too hard, the crabs that decide to have a year 7 school bundle on top of your rock, the cold water that stops you from washing out your 3 for 2 conditioner from Superdrug or the Tinder date that probably has pasta up their nose. But if it's me you're more infuriated about 1) I'm sorry 2) If you're the person on a tinder date, make sure it's not your pasta they're putting up their nose 3) My name is Lucie.
Okay, so as we've all discovered that I'm the worst at introductions, however there is still one question you are probably wondering, what is the point of this whole wannabe aesthetic website? Interesting question you ask (well I asked). Well life is crap. Life is really bloody great. Life is mundane. Life is heartbreaking. Life is meaningful. Life is, precious. The very short sentence technique I just used is for a very good reason; life isn't all good or all bad. Something we all have in common is life's highs and lows, yet it's easy to see everyone's highlight reels, and be blinded to the really dull moments of their life. And because we are so obsessed by the cute, hot guy's instagram in LA with his fancy car and really adorable dog or someone else's seemingly perfect life, we loathe ourselves for not being perfect and Nothing is more lonely. I don't want to give you a highlight reel I want to give you a 6 part, 5 hr long documentary on what life is really like; I want to give you the whale laugh moments, the moments where you feel invincible, the moments where your heart is so broken and you just sit there in the bathroom hugging your knees, the fails, the successes, the instagram worthy moments, the really lame moments and the really lonely ones. This journal isn't just to be funny, it's to be there to comfort you, help you relate to things, make you feel understood and ultimately make you feel not so alone.
If you've gotten this far, let's just say you deserve a medal for soldiering on through the waffle (It's advised if you add some syrup and butter... hopefully that will make my blog a little bit more tasteful).
The ingredients to my further waffles will include:
-Some dollops of fashion
-A spoonful of advice
-A sprinkle of my journey
- A squeeze of diary entries
- A bowlful of overly filtered, black and white photos
-A pinch of my favourite things
- A season of life with a chronic illness
-A dash of rather amateur poem
-A slice of highs and lows
-A splosh of fangirling
- And a whole lot of love
More blog posts are being baked soon!
All the love in the world
